New Executive Manager Appointed
Friday, 12th Apr 2019Gordon King brings a wide range of experience both of the meat industry and delivery of training. Gordon started off as an apprentice at McCallums, his local butcher in Auchterarder rising to the position of shop manager before leaving in 2005 to taking the opportunity to become an assessor with Scottish Meat Training (SMT).
During his 14 years at SMT Gordon has become well known and well respected by both the employers and employees that he has worked with. He is a fully qualified assessor / verifier and has represented SMT at SQA, Skills Development Scotland and Cross Party Food Groups. Some will know Gordon for his engagement with RHET, Lantra and QMS at Royal Highland Shows.
Scottish Craft Butcher’s President Scott Jarron said that he was very impressed by the quality of applicants.

Gordon will take over the position vacated by Douglas Scott who leaves Scottish Craft Butchers at the end of May after 17 years service.
