• New Customers coming in, more customers asking for advice and assurances.
As the horse meat scandal continues, customers have been flooding into butchers shops as they demonstrate trust in their local craft butcher.
Following the revelations of what has been going into supermarket products and ready meals it is now very evident that the integrity of their craft butcher where provenance and local traceability can all be demonstrated is just the assurance that customers are seeking.
These specialist suppliers are passionate about what they source, what they make and what they provide for their customers satisfaction. They make their own meat products from the same meat that they slice or cut into steaks and the same applies to those that make their own ready meals.
Many town and city butchers have been reporting an uplift of between 10% and as much as 25%. Cowdenbeath craft butcher, Tom Courts reported burger and sausage sales through the roof and trade 25% plus up:-
“We have seen a lot of new faces in the shop saying that they will never buy supermarket processed food again. The penny seems to have dropped that price and service equates to quality. Long may it last.”
The quality and assurance of Scotch Beef is unique and Scotland’s butchers are delighted to meet and serve new customers who recognise that they should be buying their meat from their local craft butcher.
