SFMTA President hits out over attempts to implicate the sector

The problem Tesco have had ...

Tesco adverts placed in the national newspapers on Thursday 28th February state
"The problem we've had with some of our meat lately is about more than burgers and bolognese. It's about some of the ways we get meat to your dinner table.<
It's about the whole food industry."

SFMTA President Ian Faulds has described this as "a blatant attempt to implicate sectors of the meat industry who clearly to their job better than Tesco. Craft butchers have survived by being loyal to local supply chains, sourcing knowingly with care, making products with integrity and unlike Tesco they will not be changing anything because they don't need to."

Craft butchers have been experiencing a boost to their trade, welcoming new and old customers and sales of steak mince in particular have grown considerably in the last few weeks as customers clearly seek out suppliers of quality beef they can put faith in.
